See ya, 2020!

Who would’ve thought that 2020 would be so wild?! Taking a minute to look back and appreciate the gems during the shit show (because obvz had several of those moments too).

In early ‘rona days, my therapist suggested I buy plants so I went on a spree and got 3 – a Philodendron (Sophia), a Marble Queen Pothos (Gamora – Marble / Marvel GET IT?), and a Monstera Deliciosa (Moni)! Happy to report they made it to 2021 + continue to thrive ♥️

I enjoyed the perks of living at home with my siblings & had lots of socially distanced hangouts at the beach – which I def didn’t do enough pre-covid.

shout out to my noob self going to the beach thinking i didn’t need sunblock #lessonLearned (I’m still rocking my ugly af tan btw).

I joined the masses and tried dalgona coffee / started avidly watching tik tok vids, while continuing to read to complete(!) my 2020 Goodread’s reading challenge. I also had the privilege of being able to support friends and fam who started their own businesses. 😊

I went camping for the first time ever in October (Cachuma Lake) + explored Joshua Tree w my bff Arantxa and the homie, Lilia (aka her younger sister) in December.

In spite of all of this, I still struggled deeply. My emotional + mental health wasn’t the best, but continuing to see my therapist helped keep me sane. 2020 taught me to keep a tab on the happy times because they’re what I clung onto when shit got rough and also taught me to appreciate (like, genuinely appreciate and not just ~for the gram #fauxDeep appreciate~) the little things.

I am happy to be alive and happy that my immediate family is still with me. I remember and pray for those who didn’t and I invite y’all to never forget that everyone is dealing with their own shit and loss regardless of what we see on the internet.
